The Hotel Pointe Isabelle takes its name from the intrepid Isabella Straton, a British trailblazer who defied societal conventions in the Victorian era to pursue her passion for scaling the alpine peaks. Alongside her husband, a seasoned mountain guide, Isabella embarked on daring journeys into the uncharted reaches of the Mont Blanc massif, shattering glass ceilings and forging new paths for women in mountaineering.
In honor of Isabella’s legacy, her grandchildren unveiled this enchanting hotel, imbuing every corner with reverence for her storied adventures. From historic photographs that adorn the walls to the intricate designs woven into the wallpaper and carpets, the Pointe Isabelle stands as a living tribute to a woman who dared to dream beyond the constraints of her time.
While the hotel seamlessly blends modern amenities with its celebrated past, guests will delight in the exceptional comfort and convenience it affords. Centrally located in the vibrant heart of Chamonix, the Pointe Isabelle places the town’s myriad delights at your fingertips. Tastefully appointed accommodations beckon respite after invigorating days spent exploring the alpine wonderland, with each room extending the invitation to linger on private balconies, drinking in the awe-inspiring vistas of soaring peaks that have captivated adventurers for centuries. For those seeking to fuel their own escapades, the hotel’s inviting bar and terrace offer the perfect vantage point from which to immerse oneself in the infectious energy of Chamonix’s lively streetscapes.
